The Prayer Room Ministry
Current Prayer Needs/Concerns

THE Early Church was devoted to four elements of the faith: teaching, fellowship, breaking of bread and prayer. The ECC Prayer Ministry is just one step we take towards supporting the fourth element.

The book of Acts teaches us that the Early Church prayed constantly (Acts 1:14, 24; 2:42;4:24, 31; 6:4, 6; 7:59; 8:15, 22, 24;9:11, 40; 10:2, 4, 9, 30, 31; 11:5; 12:5, 12; 13:3; 14:23; 16:13, 25; 20:36; 21:5; 22:17; 26:29; 27:29; 28:8) and that church leaders must focus on prayer (Acts 6:3). It also says that the people of the church should pray together corporately (Acts 1:14) and individually (Acts 9:11; 10:30; 1 Timothy 2:8).

As a church we should note the value God places on prayer (Rev. 5:8; 8:3-4). We should pray each time we meet.

  The ACTS Acrostic
At ECC, we chose the ACTS acrostic to remind us
of the emphasis the Early Church placed on prayer;
and to use as a tool to outline our prayer time -
keeping our priorities right when reaching out to
God in prayer. The acrostic goes like this:

Adoration...

praising God for who He is.
  Confession... asking for forgiveness.
Thanksgiving... giving thanks for what God has done.
  Supplication... asking God to intervene.
  Remember
Prayer is precious to God, and when done in the
right posture and with the right pattern, it will
result in its purpose to perfect the one who is
praying and to praise the One who is Perfect.

We invite you to join us as we follow the example
of the Early Church and devote ourselves to prayer. To learn more about the prayer ministry of Emmanuel, click on the following links:
